The party
Celdryn is overseeing our map-maker who is currently working away. The party agrees to find Herzog and delve into the ruins of the library. We approach Herzog and he has opened a bit of the floor in his Makeshift lab. Stairs lead down to a door that is imprinted with a marking “Thadeus Windhelm”. Before opening the door Herzog begins tracing runes on the floor encircling the hole with the descending steps to the door. Herzog finishes and marks our foreheads with chalk before we open the door, to enter the ruins. THe party (Jen’thik, creme, Tanner, Melquades, and Relda) enters in, with Herzog trailing behind. We enter a room overlooking another library, there are a few doors, scattered papers, as well as desks and chairs piled towards the open doors. Relda mentions claw marks on a door and notices it’s been ripped in half. We step out to the south and there is a balcony over-looking the library below. We take the stairs down and Relda and Herzog notice a robed figured that darts away, Herzog shoots an arrow across and calls out “I come for you old one”. The party descends on the catwalks while scanning book titles. We approach a door and the party splits, Creme’ and Jenthik (AKA Gerald) get locked in the library while the remainder of the party looks on. They scan for specific things, each character: Tanner finds a small automaton and studies it, it is obviously precursor technology. Melquades enters in to the room. Relda observes the room after being prodded by Herzog as to the whereabouts of the group. He views the party through the door windows and witnesses the party groping around an empty room with broken windows. Tanner and Jenthik begin to move toward a tunnel (not real) and investigate, we are immensely confused. Everyone views imps moving towards besides Tanner. Relda runs in and pushes Tanner while grabbing him, Jenthik runs to close the door and the party steps back outside the door. Herzog runs out and opens the door, Imps attack him, around five of them. Melquades steps to the side as the group comes back through the door, the illusion is no longer affecting the adventurers.
Herzog takes some bites to the neck and shouts at the Imps. Creme’ draws his weapon. Jenthik moves up to defend Melquades. Tanner shoots an Imp with fire rounds. Relda heals Herzog lightly. Melquades draws forth and fires a rifle at the imp attacking Herzog. A fireball goes off in the middle of the group. The group begins murdering the imps one by one as the imps occasionaly grapple the adventurers. Herzog is separated from the group as the hooded figured appears from the shadows and begins casting Stone to Muck as per Jenthiks shouting. The group moves on South down a corridor they exit. We approach some stairs as the torches began self-illuminating. As we approach the stairs the illusion seems to strengthen, the book-shelfs in the first room have righted themselves and things seem to improve overall in the upholstery. Relda bows to the ground and seeks the ear of his god Azmodeus, granting him a temporary ability: channel energy favor. He immediately invokes his gods favor, the illusion recedes partially.
At the top of the staircase we see a full outline of a part going on in the background, a strong illusion fades into the parties’ perception as they walk. There is a giant mural on the wall depicting the city with a tower intact. Upon opening the doors the party sees a small-scale recreation of the city, as well as plaques on the wall detailing the city-founders and history of the city. The group follows a wizard in black toward a lecture hall as a lecture continues about early binding magic. Next door is another lecture hall discussing Advanced Magic Theory. Relda feels the end of the hall, for a hidden door. The group walks into a laboratory in which Mages are enchanting birds to surge with elemental power. The group moves on to another room in which there are larger cages and experiments with cadavers in which voltage is being ran through those same cadavers to evoke response. The group encounters a character and he notices us checking out his research in this room. Relda bluffs Donalaeus the Demonoligist, Creme’ hears him calling upon the powers of Malakar. Gerald kicks open the drawer Donalaeus put his notes in and casts spark on the parchments. The demonologist’s skin sluffs off his face as his eyes turn black. Gerald kicks him directly in the sack, to no avail. A fight ensues and the Daemonoligist burns to the ground in the plume of fire.

We run out of the room and a fog beings to appear, the group begins to get separated and lost in the fog. Each adventurers envisions his own little cul-de-sac in reality and dwells there, separated. Tanner runs away from a wave of water. Melquades shoots a “Skeleton Mage”. Gerald hugs Relda. All of the adventurers but Tanner and Melquades see Herzog being attacked by the hooded cloaked demon as he shouts at Creme’ who seems to be the only way capable of fully realizing the situation, there seem to be multiple layers of illusion spells layered on top of each other.Relda channels the favor of Azmodeus, and it turns out he was standing directly in front of the demon, a decrepit rotting maw peers back at him with maggots and rotting flesh. Gerald attempts to layer an illusion on top of the already powerful spells, to no avail. Melquades fires at the demon, as Relda’s call for favor shatters the illusion. Tanner stands up and fires his pistol into the demon. The party rallies together and cuts the demon down as Herzog stumbles away chugging potions. The party suffers a brief vision of the demons break-out hundreds of years ago. There is a huge reactor and this research facility seems to be intact, we begin to investigate. There is a powerful mace at the center of a nearby room which emanates with power. The party sorts through the books and shuffles through the facility. Herzog approaches a safe-door, applies his deities sigil, and welcomes the party to the arkturan shrine of Oghma.

Gerald discusses the nature of our guild with Herzog, keying him in to the entirety of our purpose, specifically in regards to the responsible use of knowledge. Herzog is wary, and explains that he will put his God’s wil first in regards to specific pursuits of knowledge. He is made aware of the fact that we have a shard of the sky in our possession, and we will bring it down to this Vault tomorrow.

will go South again.

The party moves swiftly and meets a courier. We meet Lietenant

Barkley. Jen’thik meets with the lieutenant and strikes a

head to the registrars office. Lieutenant Haley meets us and

offers us money for information on the Obleon family’s

mansion. We will hold off, Tanner insists, so as to increase

the value of our knowledge.

Jen’thik proposes Melquades starts a whore-house and, perhaps,

murder the whore-house owner(s). He gigggles, and feigns

interest. Jen’thik promotes the Lavendar light district, and

the Lavendar light district. He proposes Whore Alley, and

instead the two decide on seeking information from whores,

with gold. This is a private conversation.

The party is walking to the temple together. We arrive and

Relda is led to the HEirophant. An old man in brown ragged

robes is found writing on scrolls. He looks up and is

intrigued, “Another Gnome eh? Nathan, grab my friend a stool”.

Relda proposes his “Clerics Guild” and fully explains his

attempts to restore the Devastation zone. "An assault on the

darkness" he proposes. The Priest refutes combat. Relda

explain s why order and law are necessary at a time like this.

The heirophant confides in Relda that he is afraid of a

rebellion/uprising and explains how he’d like to gain entrance

to their facility. The group seeks aid in their devastated

state, as their wounds still lay open. He explains the cost

will be 1000g for each set of recipe to get the spell cast. It

will not entirely heal any one of the wounds. Relda admits to

pulling the lever and tells the entire story. The Heirophant

slaps Relda. Creme finds a book from the Clerics.

Through the bar, while speaking to the whores, they meet with

Teresa and Ronaldo and setup a possible contract with them for

more assistance and protection on the route north to south.

Their organization name is The Black Roses.

We travel back North with our newfound friends (they are

prospecting the run to determine its worth). A section of road

collapses into the sewer and Orcs rush out of a nearby

building. We offer them Sanctuary after rescuing a series of

orcs from the building and carry on North. We nearly encounter

a large party of orcs with Golem Armor. Teresa sets up a

Gatling gun and aims it at the party to keep them at bay.

The gnome flirts awkwardly with Teresa. Jen’thik splits off

and examines a Stockade. He comes back and shares his amassed

we made contact with the north side of the city and created a sort of path. We were accosted by Highwaymen who demanded payment. We called them on their ridiculousness

and left. Tanner got paid and we met back up with Jose’ (whose business was thriving). We committed our resources to finishing the dirigible. Jenthik attepted to sway

imperial mech into dealing with the highwaymen. We instead went and spoke with them again and worked a deal in which we cut each other bonuses for routing traffic

through our “safer” path. They were tied to the Obleon family.

We founded an organization to learn, protect (the weak), profit. This is a hidden mission statement for now, this is basically a shrouded intelligence agency.

Jenthik awakes in the room where the mirrored man met him in the past. He nurses his head, and scopes the surrounding. He stumbles to door. Door is felt. He attempts

to push the non-push door. A man approaches and explains his error. Jen’thik swiftly passes out. He is brought to a couch and mumbles about dreams in his head which is

still there. “You washed up on-shore” he goes on to explain the catastrophe that occurred at the spire. "there is a great black orb, in which Orcs worship the orb in

place of your old research center. The golems keep guard in the desolate zone." Jen’thik responds "I leave for a week and the city goes to Orcs?! Any word on the state

of affairs at the library? Perhaps we should muster Imperial Mechinations and get organized?" The man explains a way in to the Orc encampment to begin taking power of

the control hubs to orient the Golems at the orcs. Jen’thik leaves the area and approaches an Aquarius corporation tent. He meets Celdryn, Tanner, and Creme’ after

searching for them and inquiring with the captain at arms (who was training in the nearby street).

The group searches in the rubble and re-routes away from a Ginormous GOlem that was fell by a group of running soldiers, the group hid as they passed. Jen’thik

attaches a ring of power to a conductive pole once he discovers an area with the “shimmer” the ring takes strike after strike of lightning and explodes, nocking 3

members of the party out. The group recovers and splits up in two parties, using Detect Magic to search for traces of Golem control nodes.

Creme and Tanner approach a hospital full of refugees and are forced to relinquish their weapons to a quartermaster.

The party (celdryn, creme, relda, and tanner) regrouped at the Junkyard dirigible and proceeded back to the research labs. They approach the terminals and watch the monitors. The gnome pokes at the terminal in curious gnome fashion. The facility begins to fall apart and a great surge of static power begans to visibly surge out from the facility.
The party runs from the research labs to the Main Research reactor in the center of town barely making it. They tie themselves together with a long rope as the air is whipped from their lungs. A great cloud surrounds them and chaos ensues as the gound shakes. They barely make it past a bridge as it falls apart beneath them. The air is torn apart as power flows from the main tower. The tower disintegrates and pulses light out from the top. The party falters as bridges collapse around them, they run towards the center of the reactor.
As the party pushes in laughter echoes around them. They come into a room in which there are floating islands of equipment. A very powerful being at the center of the room pulls apart the structure of the surrounding environment as arching bolts of power seem to bolster his essence. A few words are said, the being explains he has been trapped for as long as has been in existence. Tanner tells the being he is free. The being turns his attention towards the surging static ememanating from the research labs. Tanner shouts at the being “to stop this you must go to the source” (assuming it is the rings at the center of the research labs that are causing this disturbance). Tanner lobs a bomb at one of six pieces of equipment
Creme and Relda assess the equipment and Relda begans to prey as he realizes many of the binding arrays are set with the blessings and prayers of his gods. Celdryn climbs up on one of the remaining 5 equipment pieces and scratches some of the large binding symbols out. Tanner begins rigging equipment to back-feed and sets other traps on equipment pieces, he runs to connect a power line between two pieces of equipment to cause a larger feedback loop. The being summons shades as the party runs about. One of the shades reaches through tanner’s flesh and tears at his life-force. Tanner runs to charge one of the platinum rings in his parts sack. One of the remaining shades disconnects one of Liz’s feedback-traps.
Creme checks the nearest array to him and disables it swiftly. The being turns and cringes as he dissapates. The Research Labs are covered in a black dome, there is no more radiations of power from it. The tower collapsed in entirety, taking the group down with it. Creme is hit in the face and takes -4 permanent Charisma penalty. A -3 Permanent Constitution penalty for tanner whom has a portion of his torso missing. Liz has a -2 permanent Wisdom check due to a concussion.
The group wakes up separated in the rubble. Tanner awakes in a cistern in the sewers, with light pouring down; A goblin child peers at him from a nearby rubble pile. Relda wakes up in a tent in the nearby rubble of the late temple Iil Matier. Creme woke up on the beach and begins to reflect on the situation and goes into a trance. Celdryn is MIA.
The dirigible is alive, as Relda book stumbles upon the wreckage, so is Jose’.

melquiades enters the stage – william whetstone – tanner

and celdryn play a part in todays adventures.

jaythum is inhabited by a ghostly force little by little,

the adventurers wander the halls of an ethereal plane.
Melquiades gathers information, he determines the full

scope of the situation in that these shadows are purely

trying to survive, and mean no harm (as far as he can

tell). He bumps into Tanner and a jovial conversation

ensues.

Celdryn notices a form of censoring in the texts and

manuals in the libraries. As she digs deeper she begans to

piece together the tale of the breaking of the world, and

into unstable planar binding techniques through great

releases of power, or magic. It seems as if this world may

have been made that way and is possibly collapsing on

itself.

the group meets in the library and then decides to speak

with the leader of the shadows in the main hall. Celdryn

speaks on behalf of the party. We request further

information so as to assist the shadow-people in the case

of the great spread of entropy on this plane.

The creature recommends we go forth and speak with mistress

Ashara. And so we did.

Celdryn speaks on behalf of that party and we enter the

offices of Ashara. Celdryn explains the situation. Ashara

mutters to herself and explains of a recent investigation

of a “bright point” of something beyond. It is getting

brighter and brighter.

we’d need to find a way to counteract the penetration into

this world Ashara explains. The group goes back to the

shadow leader, recently discovered to be the

representative. We are transported back to reality.

We arrive in a field and travel the road until we find a

deserted truck, Celdryn hot-wires it with her summoning

skills. We head into the town and bang on the reactor

doors. Reginald Waterforth the third presents himself and

Tanner explains the situation and the group is brought to

the Elemental who remains in the city. He shows us a

pattern (rune) that must be carved, and the recipe and

increments for the pattern. Celdryn finds a way the group

of 5 could create the pattern and Tanner realizes with some

hoes, the job is always easier.

The group finds a small manual rototiller and some hand-

hoes and begins practicing the ritual in an open field.

There is a requirement for blood. The rituals is attempted

a few times and is completed. The tilled ground shifts,

there is a cluster of small circles pointed at Denos and a

triangle wobbles, as if pointing in a direction. The party

has learned the Ritual of Detection.

They hit the road in their vehicle and arrive in Arkturus.

We go to the hidden lab and speak with the water elemental.

We relay all the information we’ve recently discovered to

him and he explains the problem is caused by "what’s at the

center" which is the room with the rings. Liz ponders the

possibilities and presents two solutions. One elemental

would have to be bound in their world to push back against

this influx, or, a group of elementals would have to pulse

what’s at the center to destroy it.

We write out a plan of action to gather information so as

to find elementals in harm or duress that would be willing

to assist us. Melquiades searches for an elemental in

duress through the Aquarius corporation and The party rigs

up a bypass on a restricted section of the library.

The group sets up a quick case study and finds the most

notoriours company: Rhodius Corporation (a cross between

big game clubs and Blackwater, they seek fire elementals,

and it seems like they’re burning through them -per

celdryn). The group approaches a mansion. There’s a pull-

through entrance and a valet, it’s veritably a Chateau.

The group has their weapons stripped by two burly men and

recons the area profusely after being introduced to the

patron of the grounds. The are shown the grounds and toured

the area.

We approach Jose and he is happily working. Jose offers a

forgery specialist, Eduardo Montiban (AKA The Fox). THe

group apprpoaches an orphanage and speaks with The Fox. He

agrees and the group pays 1000 gold for forged documents

tomorrow.

Jen’thik and Celdryn are in torchbearer status. The party travels to back to Arkturas and begins recooperating.
Tanner sold his platinum broadsword after coming out of the ruins and received 120 Platinum pieces. (1300 gold) In Imperial Mechinations tanner inspects guns and begins crafting a revolver. Tanner spent 80P (800g) on parts for his new revolver and a new engineering table (with add-ons for re-loading ammunition in specific). Whitman is a gun maker whose wares are sold as specialty higher end items in the on-site gun store and he was the first to create a Cannon which can shoot higher than 800 Feet per second amongst other crazy shit (SEE whitman tank it goes boom).
the new engineering table purchased by Tanner gives a +5 to craft checks. he comes back to work the next day at imperial mechinations and read the book “notes on applications of long distance shelling” after speaking with the foreman and asking for a recommendation.
Relda book purchases a bound armored coat with detailing. Relda inspected a Junkyard and found a sky-ship of immense interest that isn’t in too bad of shape.
Creme and Relda book travelled to the junkyard and began assessing the feasibility of raising the dirigible that caught Relda’s eye. The pair argues and the gnome finds Tanner and asks for some assistance regarding the air ship. The gnome barter for storage and a work-space with the Junkyard owner. They gather tubing and sheet metal to re-plate the air-ship. Tanner dreams big about the dirigible. The three rent a space just outside of the junkyard which is setup for working on large vehicles.
Tanner purchases wood for the dirigible after hiring an architectural engineer from the tradesmans guild. Jose (who was hired off the street by Relda) begans to work on repairing the wood exterior of the dirigible while Tanner follows suit by retro-fitting modern engine mounts.
Meanwhile at the speckled scholar, Creme saw Nathan and began observing him while Nathan and friends are looking over maps. He approaches and gets the cold-shoulder. he then heads up to his room and meditates, he has a revelation and decides to press for more information from Nathan. He has sincece gone down to speak with nathan and the lady Cynthia and they are eating dinner together and talking about Creme’s journey through the cross mountains at Denos. Creme shares information about the bepast-folk in high cross. “interesting, perhaps some created, forgotten creature or mountain-folk”. There are talks of “star pillars” that were used to lock-up old trickster gods. Cynthia winks at creme’ and puts her hand on Nathan’s thigh. A round of drinks are ordered. The group describes a cathedral-esque area which the party previously visited and talks about the writing which was deserved for the “sanctity and safety of all”. They prepose a contract to Creme’, he is interested. Creepy and unbelievably awkward sexual tension is thrust upon Creme’.
Tanner creates a high calibur revolver with a quick reload mechanism. The weapon has interchangable Cylnders. Due to the size of the bore and Tanner’s new rifled barrel techniques. It requires speciality ammo and does 1d8, the weapon can be fired 6 times and is a swift action to reload assuming fresh cylinders are ready. Move action to reload normally. standards rounds are 20g for 12 shots and high ballistic doule load rounds are 35g and do 1d8 plus 1d6, another round is known – incendiary rounds, 1d8 +1d4 fire and cost 45. It is of a masterwork quality and adds +2 to hit.
Tanner is extended an offer by the foremam, a full time Mechanical Engineer position at 2000g a month. Outside contracting must be approved, or pay for it out of pocket. 20% is offered on th e new revolver part molds, the interchangable ammo and the rifled revolver barrel. Tanner is shown shells for the whitmore cannon which have small binding arrays bound into the shell, and show him the effect on a target. It explodes in ice and encases all surrounding targets. Tanner takes note and releaves himself early, he heads for the junkyard workshop quite excited.
Relda detects a ground-tremble pulsating from the bay. He walks to the bay and sees as if from heat a blurred sea-scape. The next day Tanner stumbles out of the junkyard slightly hungover, having celebrated by himself with a 100g bottle of wine. Creme searches the library for a reference of a dark elf version of subject 387, with red eyes.
On the fifth day Relda searches again for his favorite hobo to no avail and the three adventurers meet up at the junkyard and speak with Jose, there is a funny smell of weed. The adventurers discuss and consider different engine types for the airship. Binding techniques are considered and the three go to the library. 3 choices are presented to Relda regarding possible binding techniques to power engines.
Tanner goes shopping with Relda and Creme. 1 Medium small Diesel engine with a modular capicator power supply and two turbines. The setup should get 20 Knots in the air, air sails may need to be purchased.
Tanner tips Jose and we hire Juan as a shop assistant for the air-ship project. Tanner constructs new engine mounts for the standby Diesel engine and they are immensely sturdy.
Celdryn has been researching shipping routes and political situations around sky privateering. The oracle and the sorcerer discuss a city in the sky and Celdryn leaves again to study. Relda begins to pray.

Tanner has 820g at this point.

the party left the goblin encampment and went trhough the large lizards den into a seemingly religious temple which the gnome found amazingly interesting, his aura changed after speaking with the god of the temple
we then ventured further into and past the temple and found an amazing facility filled with higher end binding tech
found a huge facility with a glowimg “sun” of energy
jenthik the elf put a suit of armor on which reacted poorly with his psyche and his elf nature, red lines of power surged through his veins and he passed out after walking into the center of the rune in the middle of the one of the large main rooms
tanner put on the armor and the oracle explained it was most likely a bound coat
Jenthik explained to the party that this facility was used previously for altered or created beings to pour engergy into and maniipulate the fields which seemingly interact with the entire facility.

The Sins of my Race

In this chapter.

I received a message from an old friend of mine. His team had stumbled upon ruins that might hav clues to our past ; such as what exactly propelled us into this world. I knew that I would need help, the kind of help that didnt ask two many questions. Us Gnomes are very protective of our past and do not want people shining all Gnomes in a poor light because of it. I also knew that I couldn’t just hire any hobo off the street; my team needed to be capable and aware. It just so happen I recently met such a group of people. A ranger, a gunslinger, a summoner, and the misterious one.

With my team assembled I left as much out as possible and enticed them with a fine payment in exchange for no questions. Then we were off the next day to the town of " " where my cousin gnome Jathom was waiting to fill in all the blanks. He told me of the ruins he had fou.d that were sure to be ours. Yet they were over 300 years old! So we continue with him to the outskirts of town where we find these ruins. A frozen marker in Gnomes history. I couldn’t tell them what we are looking for yet; but seeing gnomish ruins that are much older then they ought to be has raised more then a few questions for our travelers. As we slowly embark on our excavation of the apparent research facility Falcon Claw comes into a life and death conflict with a mechanicall Gnome. Apparently still with not only power but a very functional body. After a long hard. struggle (Falcon Claw kicked him in the face) he emerged victorious. Continuing through the ruins. they came across a building with a security system still very much intact. Using my keen intelligence and unmeasurable wisdom I Relda Book discovered how to reset the password to the entrance!

Traveled deeper into what seemed to be a more and more advanced facility we discovered a horde of MechGnomes like the one that had attacked FC. They only spoke Gnomish and were more than happy to answer what few questions they were capable of. Proceeding further into the building the sightthey saw became as cryptic as they were disturbing, not least of all for me was the discovery that my grandfather had been high level researcher at this facility, also that it. appears he may be one of the men responsible for Richard. Amongst everything my team that I. brought is now demanding answers to about what was inside, and why it looked all to familiar.
